چکیده

Estuaries are areas that vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Understanding how these affect complex environments and their uses is essential. This paper presents a work based on an analytical solution 2DH 3D versions Delft3D numerical model simulate Minho River estuary its saline wedge length under change projections. Temperature observations at several locations in region were selected determine which better simulated temperature patterns. Specific simulations performed for observation periods. Sixteen scenarios proposed, considering varying tide, different river flows, SLR projections RCP4.5 RCP8.5 2050 2100. The was also calibrated using solutions. results show although there no relevant stratification, difference both models worst scenario, intrusion increased up 28 km 30 model. It concluded more precise, but configurations can provide insights into will be affected. Additionally, excellent agreement between allowed us consider helpful tool practical applications. demonstrated freshwater discharges bed slopes most critical drivers as they have impact than increase sea level. Therefore, flow regulation way control future.

Quantified Analysis of the Probability of Flooding in the Thames Estuary under Imaginable Worst-case Sea Level Rise Scenarios

Most studies of the impacts of sea level rise (SLR) have explored scenarios of ,1 m during the 21st century, even though larger rises are possible. This paper takes a different approach and explores and quantifies the likely flood impacts in the Thames estuary for a number of plausible, but unlikely, SLR scenarios. The collapse of the Western Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) could cause global mean s...

Simulation of rice production under climate change scenarios in the Southern coasts of Caspian Sea

Climate change has direct and indirect consequences on crop production and food security. Agriculture and cropproduction is one of the factors which depend on the weather conditions and it provides the human requirements inmany aspects. The objective of this study is to assess the impacts of future climatic change on irrigated rice yieldusing the CERES-Rice model in the Southern Coast of Caspia...

Assessing the Impacts of Sea Level Rise on Salinity Intrusion and Transport Time Scales in a Tidal Estuary, Taiwan

Global climate change has resulted in a gradual sea level rise. Sea level rise can cause saline water to migrate upstream in estuaries and rivers, thereby threatening freshwater habitat and drinking-water supplies. In the present study, a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model was established to simulate salinity distributions and transport time scales in the Wu River estuary of central Taiwan. T...

Potential Effect of Sea Level Rise on Rambai River, Malaysia

Sea level rise could alter the boundary conditions of tidal rivers. This in turn would modify the hydrodynamic behaviour of coastal rivers and consequently their backwater rise. This paper presents the effect of modified boundary conditions on river peak stage and flow resulting from probable levels of sea level rise on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The study site is a tidal affected r...
